Nine16 Photography is based in the Illawarra and shoots documentary wedding photography right down the coast into the Shoalhaven and South Coast NSW. Two regions, one unposed approach.
Home turf
Illawarra wedding photography
This is where Nine16 is based, and it shows: we know which lookouts catch the light at 5pm, which beaches lose their sand at high tide, and which venues let a documentary photographer actually move around. From the Sea Cliff Bridge's sweeping curve to the escarpment backdrop behind Wollongong, the Illawarra gives us more usable light and landscape per square kilometre than almost anywhere else on the coast.
An easy drive south
South Coast & Shoalhaven wedding photography
Keep driving south of Berry and the coastline gets quieter and bluer. Jervis Bay's water is some of the clearest in the country, and Ulladulla's working harbour gives receptions a rougher, more honest backdrop than a resort ballroom ever will. Most South Coast bookings run as a full weekend rather than a single day, which suits documentary coverage: more time, more real moments, less rush.
