Nine16 Photography shoots real Illawarra & South Coast weddings as they actually happen: no forced poses, no fake smiles, no fake filters.
“If it's staged, it's not the story. We show up early, stay low key, and let the day tell itself.”
That means chasing light instead of poses, and keeping half an eye on the in between moments: the pacing before the ceremony, the glance between speeches, the ten seconds after the first kiss that nobody choreographs. Not staged. Not filtered into something it wasn't. Documented, once, as it happened.

The approach
What we skip. What we chase.
We skip
- Forced poses and "chin down, shoulders back"
- Family formation lineups that eat your reception
- Held smiles, three seconds too long
- Heavy presets and fake filters that make every wedding look the same
- A shot list longer than the ceremony
We chase
- The first look reaction, unrehearsed
- The speech that makes everyone laugh and cry
- Real colour, real skin tones, real light
- The walk back up the aisle
- Whatever your uncle is doing on the dance floor at 11pm
Where we shoot
Illawarra & South Coast NSW
Illawarra
Wollongong, Kiama, Shellharbour, Berry, Austinmer and the Sea Cliff Bridge: our home turf.
South Coast
Shoalhaven, Nowra, Jervis Bay, Huskisson, Ulladulla and Mollymook: an easy drive south, often a full weekend.
In their words
What couples say afterwards.
He was with us from the very start of the day until late at night, always in the right place without ever being intrusive. His calm, friendly approach helped everyone feel at ease, and it shows in the photos. Thomas has a great eye for capturing people naturally, without anything feeling staged or forced.
From our very first meeting, he took the time to get to know us and really listened to what we wanted, and just as importantly, what we didn't want. He captured everything from the big emotional moments to the quiet, candid ones we didn't even realise were happening. Some of our absolute favourite shots are the ones we didn't know he was taking.
Ours wasn't the easiest wedding to organise. We're Czechs living in Scotland, and we were travelling back to Czech Republic for the big day. Most of our guests didn't speak English, but Thomas handled it all effortlessly. He connected with everyone so naturally that it honestly felt like he'd known them for years.
From the outset he was friendly and confident. On the day he was there from the very beginning, capturing beautiful candid shots of my wife and daughter getting ready. He took some really creative and arty shots through the night, capturing the smiles on everyone's faces.
